Teenage Yr.s

I was sent to the group home....not too many people want a troubled teen. I got into trouble, running away all the time, fighting, & getting expelled from 7th grade. I had to attend school for the rest of the yr. at the group home.
I was living at the "intake unit". After being tired of being good, I started being bad. We had a color code. Green= good, yellow= OK, & red= bad. I still remember how I got my first red..... I drank some mouth wash & just wasn't listening. The first time I ran away I was 12. Me, Tonya, & Shane did. We went to someone's that Tonya knew. While we were "on the run", I lost my virginity to Shane. After we were caught, I was sent to a runaway shelter in Youngstown. I was there for a short time. Then I stayed with the Browns or Brownings for just a bit. Then, back to the group home. When I went back I was put in the "girls unit".
I was unpacking my stuff & in it was 2 letters I had received. See, when I ran away I looked in the phonebook & saw someone with my sisters name. I wrote to see if it was her. Sure enough, it was. Along with her letter was a letter from my cousin. Here, I had been going to school with her & didn't even know it. (i wasn't expelled yet) so, when I went to school I asked people who she was & I found her. We use to go in the bathroom & smoke together. She brought me little gifts & letters from my mom & her mom. Then I started running away to go to my mom's. She would let me stay for a few days, then turn me in, so that she wouldn't get in trouble. The first time I ran away TO HER, was in the winter.....snow & all. It was me, Lori, & someone else. We walked & used someone's phone. I called my aunt who called my mom on 3way. I told them to meet us at a certain bank. Then, we went there & waited. Those ppl, whose phone we used, must have called police, because they came to get us. They took us back to the group home. There, they took all our shoes & coats. Well I said hell with this! I had made plans to be picked up & to see my mom that I hadn't seen in atleast 5 yr.s. I ran away w/o any coat or shoes!
So, to make a long story shorter..... I ran to my moms alot. I resisted arrest & assaulted police officers alot. I was put in JJC (Juvenile Justice Center) alot, too.
One day, when I was 14, this girl Kim was running her mouth & getting on my nerves. We argued.... she called me a "jellyroll" & I beat her up with a coffee cup. She was monitored for a concussion & had stitches inside & outside of her mouth. I was put in JJC, & eventually sent to DYS (department of youth services).... juvenile prison. I received 6 months & then had 2 months added for being in two fights. At first I was in Deleware, Ohio. We were in cells, limited on everything. MOSTLY in the tiny cell, just like prison. After a month or 2, I was sent to Euphrasia in Cleveland. It was more like a group home on a locked unit. We weren't locked in our rooms, we earned things like snacks & privleges. We even got to go to plays, skating, & church. I still remember alot of girls from there. (Keyoschia, Quiana, Aubrey, Nikki, Darla, Shelia Ackerman, Tiffany Mueke, Meredith, Regina Vasquez, Cassiopia King, & definetly Tina Litwin)
Euphrasia was the first time I got to explore my interests in other girls..... & it was more than kissing. And I knew I definetly liked girls.
They let my mom come & visit me. I remember her, my aunt, my grandma, & I think my little sister coming. After being in there, I was allowed to go home TO MY MOM!!!
*Next time I will write about coming home*
